Bus Shopping Tour - "The Shop Hop" 14 June 2008
Everyone had a fabulous day shopping on our first "Shop Hop" for many years. We toured some of the the exclusive "tour-only" stores and outlet stores in West End, Milton, Sumner Park, Macgregor and Salisbury.
There were many bargains to be had on the day. The very first stop was a hit with many of the ladies purchasing handbags and accessories at ultra-bargain prices.
We moved on to luggage and travel goods, designer handbags, shoes, walllets, umbrellas, womens designer clothing and accessories and the best homewares and gift store in Brisbane.
From here we went to more womens clothing, shoes and accessories. Some bargain hunters managed to get in an unscheduled extra stop at the contintental deli across the road for some antipasto!
Acrosss to Milton we travelled to see some lovely handmade natural soaps, skincare & gifts.
Lunch was at the Broncos Leagues Club and we were very pleased to be refuelled and recharged after our morning's effort shopping.
After lunch we head out to Sumner Park to our stop with 5 stores in one. This is what is called power shopping with a discount store, pottery and great gardenware including waterfeatures, shoe warehouse, womens clothing and homewares & gifts.
As we headed off to our next top close by, some of the shoppers (the webmaster especially) , got a little carried away at the book wholesaler. Pallets and pallets of books, (sooooo cheap) enough to make any avid reader want to bring a camp bed, a book light, and a steady supply of cappuccino and have many happy hours reading.
Sadly, we had to leave the book wholesalers for the realm of undies, socks, singlets, bras and shoes. How good was that! We received 10% off all the already bargain prices!
We then headed off to the lovely linen house, where our hotess was such a lovely lady and gave us so many bargains to choose from and such great quality items.
Some of the merchants were gracious enough to donate some small items for our raffles on the bus, which we greatly appreciated. We thank them all and hope that the ladies will return to those businesses who are open to the public and support them in the future. We all look forward to returning to those others on our next tour.
Thanks to everyone who came along and made the Shop-Hop a really special day that was a lot of great fun. It was lovely to spend the day with you all. The Association appreciates your support and all the funds raised from the Shop Hop will help us to continue to provide information and support to the community and help us to fund further Endometriosis awareness projects throughout Queensland.
Many thanks to Libby Needham for organising the day, Alan our Bus Driver, Deb our Tour Guide & Brisbane Warehouse Shopping Tours.
