What is QENDO?
About the Association
The Endometriosis Association (Qld) Inc (QENDO) was inaugurated in August 1988. The main aims of the Association are Education, Research and Support. Members of the Association work to achieve these aims through various activities conducted throughout the state.
The Association is administered through a Management Committee. Volunteers of this Association conduct fundraising activities, counselling training and support, education activities and maintain a library. During Endometriosis Awareness Week in March, seminars are held with guest speakers who present topics such as Nutrition, Exercise, Pain Management, Drugs and Alternative Therapies.
Other activities of the Association include telephone & e-mail, support services. We raise the funds to provide these activities through membership fees & fundraising activities.
In the area of education, there is a library of books, articles and tapes which are available for borrowing by members. Soon to be relaunched is the Endometriosis Association’s School Education visit series. We are also expanding the educational opportunities to include Seminar Series to be held in Queensland Regional areas.
We liaise with national and international Endometriosis groups including the US/Canadian Association, UK and European Associations. We also maintain a strong collaborative working relationship with the Queensland Institute of Medical Research, especially with their Endometriosis Research Team.
In accordance with its Constitution, our Association follows its Statement of Goals and works to achieve them to their fullest.
Since the inception of our Association, we have achieved a great deal in many areas. With continued support and enthusiasm from our members and the public, we will continue to move forward.
Gaining your support and your involvement would greatly assist the Association.
