Symptoms of Endometriosis


We would like to highlight the most common symptoms of endometriosis.

 

*  Period Pain

*  Pelvic pain outside of menstruation

*  Abnormal bleeding

*  Bowel disturbances

*  Difficulties becoming pregnant

*  Painful urination

*  Lower back, thigh &/or leg pain

*  Pain During Sex

*  Pre-Menstrual Syndrome (PMS)

 

Approximately 1 in 8 women are effected by endometriosis,

 many of these women.....

  • do not know what endometriosis is..
  • believe these symptoms to be a "normal" part of being a woman..
  • can take up to 8 years to be diagnosed as they don't recognise the symptoms...
  • endure the pain alone without support..
  • do not talk about their problems with their family or their health professional
