Connected Communities on the Sunshine Coast

Welcome to the Sunshine Coast QENDO Community!

  • Meet your local coordinator - Hollie

Hey! I’m Hollie & it’s such a privilege to be working with the QENDO team and supporting those of you on the sunny coast that are experiencing difficulties, are seeking support or are looking for your network of like minded people.

I’m originally from the UK, where I went through lots of ups, downs and sideways before I was diagnosed with Endometriosis…which is a story I’m sure many of you resonate with.

My background is in community health and wellbeing and I’m a strong believer in holistic health - considering the persons physical, mental, emotional and social factors that contribute to overall wellbeing. I also see great value in a multidisciplinary approach to health, especially when managing complex conditions like endometriosis. Integrating both medical and holistic strategies - such as nutrition, movement, mental health support, and complementary therapies - to address the condition from all angles and improve quality of life. This is something that I practise myself to manage my own symptoms.

As a result of my own challenges with my health, I’ve gained a passion to support and educate others so they have the tools to advocate for themselves, feel like they have a support network and feel confident to manage their symptoms in a way that suits them and their bodies.

When I’m not working I’m very active, I love hiking, walking my dog, being in nature and I train and compete in Brazilian Jiu Jistu. I’m also a hugeeee foodie … so if you don’t see me in a gym you’ll find me in a restaurant!

I’m excited to meet you, please reach out if you want to join a meet up!

  • Meet your local coordinator - Tanya

Hello! My name is Tanya and I am so excited to be part of the QENDO team! I am a Kiwi at heart but moved to the Sunshine Coast because I need the sun and surf in my life!

I am a Registered Nurse working in women’s and reproductive health and I’m also a natural fertility educator, menstrual cycle coach and yoga teacher — because I see the value in an integrated approach to health.

My own experience with reproductive health issues over the years has led to my passion in menstrual, reproductive health and education. I’ve struggled with painful periods, a stubborn ovarian cyst and losing my period for over a year when I came off the contraceptive pill. I was misdiagnosed, dismissed and often left feeling unsupported by a system I believed was meant to help me. I had to learn about my body and find my way by myself, eventually restoring my cycle and managing pain through holistic and natural approaches. That experience was transformative and lit a fire in me to support others going through similar struggles.

I believe there is a huge gap in education about menstrual health and  endometriosis within the medical system and I want to be a part of changing that. I also want to contribute to the beautiful QENDO community so that we all can feel supported and empowered to advocate for our own health and I want to create cosy environments where we can chat and understand our health and menstrual cycles together.

In my spare time you’ll find me in the surf with my partner, at a pilates or yoga class or searching for the best coffee shop in town! If you see me out and about, don’t be afraid to say hello, I’d love to have a chat!
