Connected Communities in Cairns & Hinterland

Meet your local coordinators

  • Hi! I’m Grace, QENDOMeet Coordinator for QENDO, based in Tropical North Queensland. After 15 years seeking a diagnosis I was finally diagnosed at age 28 and since then have travelled to Sydney to undergo multiple surgeries and various other procedures including egg freezing. I am deeply committed to supporting others navigating this condition. I also have a very bossy dog who keeps me on my toes! Through our QENDOMeet gatherings, I aim to create warm, empathetic spaces where members can connect, share experiences, and find strength in our community. Together, we are building a network of understanding and empowerment.

Diagnosed with Stage 4 endometriosis after a 14-year journey, I’ve faced multiple surgeries, infertility, and menopause—experiences that drive my commitment to supporting women through similar challenges. I work with QENDO to break the taboo around endometriosis, especially in cultural communities, and recently began wellness coaching to empower women on their health journeys.

Outside of work, I enjoy Pilates, strength training, long walks (inspired by my late dog, Ruffus Red), cooking, and creative hobbies. I value community, connection, and meaningful change—let’s chat!

  • Hi, I’m Tonya, I was surgically diagnosed with Endometriosis at age 30 after more than a decade of intermittent pain. I understand some of the difficulties in trying to access knowledgeable healthcare providers and support in a regional area. So I have joined QENDO’s mission to spread awareness in the hope that other people living in regional or rural areas can find support too. I have a degree in environmental science and am passionate about all things science, advocacy and inclusion. My goal is to create a safe space for people to share their experiences and find support.

I was diagnosed in 2019 at age 36 with endo after almost two decades of symptoms and seeking answers from countless doctors and specialists. Learning about endo has helped me understand my body better. The endo warrior community has helped me find ways to manage symptoms and validate a lot of what I have experienced for so many years.

One of my favourite tools to use is somatic tracking.

  • Hi, my name is Lucy. I grew up in Cairns and after living in many other places, I moved back to this tropical paradise. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 endo and adenomyosis in 2023 at the age of 34 after struggling with symptoms for many years. I am passionate about creating a supportive network where those living with endo can find support, solidarity, and share information and ideas that support us all living the best life we can live with endo/adenomyosis/PCOS. I can't wait to connect and help you become a part of a supportive community.

Driven by my own struggles and the desire to prevent others from facing the same long wait for answers, I became deeply passionate about volunteering and advocacy within the endometriosis community. I currently volunteer as a mentor and on the support line for QENDO, where I provide guidance and support to those going through similar experiences. Additionally, I founded my passion project Friends with Endo, a social support network where I organise and run events to connect those living with endometriosis and help alleviate the loneliness that is often felt after diagnosis. Always listening actively and showing empathy and compassion for the journey of others, I am deeply committed to making a difference and volunteering tirelessly in this space to ensure that nobody has to endure the same isolation and uncertainty that I did.
