Whether you’re newly diagnosed, feeling overwhelmed, awaiting treatment, or simply needing someone who understands — our Nurse Support Program is here to help you feel informed, supported and less alone.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

Flexible 6-Appointment Support Program

The Nurse Support Program is delivered across six appointments, tailored to your individual needs and goals.

Appointments do not need to occur weekly — the program is flexible and designed to work around your health, capacity and schedule.

  • Symptom Discussions

  • Education and Trusted Resources

  • Goal Setting

  • Understanding Treatment Options

  • Preparing for Appointments

  • Emotional Wellbeing Support

  • Homework, Reflection Activities or Guided Resources between Appointments

  • Connecting into Peer Support, Mentoring and Community Programs

APPOINTMENT TYPES:

INITIAL INTAKE APPOINTMENT

Your first appointment focuses on understanding your history, current challenges, goals and support needs.

This may include:

  • Symptom history

  • Previous diagnoses or treatments

  • Current concerns

  • Mental wellbeing check-in

  • Identifying areas where support is needed most

ONGOING SUPPORT APPOINTMENTS

These appointments provide continued support, education and guidance throughout your journey.

Topics may include:

  • Navigating healthcare systems

  • Surgery preparation/recovery support

  • Managing overwhelm or burnout

  • Workplace/study challenges

  • Relationships and intimacy

  • Self-advocacy

  • Accessing community support pathways

URGENT SUPPORT CHECK-INS

For patients requiring additional support during particularly difficult periods, urgent appointments and follow-up check-ins may be available where appropriate.
