The Sunday Mail Transurban Bridge to Brisbane 2024 | Team QENDO x IMB
QENDO and UQ’s Institute for Molecular Bioscience have joined forces to support UQ endometriosis research in the 2024 Bridge to Brisbane
On 8 Sep 2024, QENDO members, UQ researchers, donors, supporters and endometriosis advocates will be walking, jogging and running in the Bridge to Brisbane to raise funds for UQ’s endometriosis research. This important endometriosis research is focused on:
1. Reducing diagnostic delays
2. Helping doctors understand the clinical implications of patient experiences, and
3. Developing targeted treatments for the many patients whose lives are impacted by this painful and debilitating disease including:
o Exploring the use of PET scans to assist in endometriosis diagnosis and / or provide a guide for surgeons for more effective surgeries and
o Growing organoids from endometrial cells to enable individualised drug screening. In the future, this may allow clinicians to know which therapy will be most effective for each patient’s specific type of endometriosis - saving time, reducing patient costs and ultimately improving patient outcomes.
Please support your favourite walker, jogger or runner here to help this life-changing research: The Sunday Mail Transurban Bridge to Brisbane 2024 | Team QENDO x IMB (gofundraise.com.au)
