Hi, I’m Jorja

Hi, I’m Jorja!

I am a current high school student who’s passionate about music and looking to study medicine in university. I’ve been struggling with endometriosis since 11 years old and am eternally grateful for the care I received which allowed me to be formally diagnosed at 15. I’ve gone through the ups and downs of trying to manage my symptoms with variations of the pill, surgery and IUDs, whilst navigating high school.

Leading up to my surgery, I felt extremely isolated as I tried to explain to those around me my situation. Through this, I experienced firsthand the lack of education surrounding endometriosis in a younger demographic, constantly having to explain myself on a daily basis. Despite attending an all-girls school, I faced hearing endometriosis was “not a real illness” and I was “just having bad periods”. From this, I aim to change the culture surrounding endometriosis and other women’s health issues for the next generation, one conversation at a time.

I’m here to support other young endo warriors like me on their journeys. I know how daunting it can be to seek help and I aim to empower you to advocate for yourself and those around you. One conversation at a time, I hope to show you that you’re not alone and support you through tough times.
