Hi, I’m Kim
Hi Everyone, I’m Kim!
I am 26 years old and I currently work in Human Resources, within the Learning and Development space!
I was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2023. However, I'd been dealing with symptoms since I was 12 years old. Since my diagnosis, I've had multiple laparoscopies and tried a range of treatments atrying to figure out what works best for me. In 2025, I was also diagnosed with PMOSs.
One thing I've had to learn the hard way is that managing endometriosis isn't just about managing my symptoms. It's also about learning how to navigate everyday life alongside it. At the time I was diagnosed, I was balancing full-time work and full-time uni (which I can happily say now that i've graduated), whilst trying to make the most of my twenties. For me, one of the hardest lessons was learning that I couldn't do everything, all the time (back-to-back-to-back plans isn't always the best idea with a chronic illness!). Saying "no" to plans, slowing down when I needed to, and putting my health first didn't come naturally, but it was a vital lesson in my endo journey!
When i'm not working, you'll usually find me watching the NRL, MotoGP or soccer, singing my heart out at karaoke, or heading off to a concert. These are the things that bring me joy, and they've reminded me that life is still full of things to look forward to, even on the tougher days.
To me my role as a QENDO Mentor is about helping people navigate their new normal, while still making room for the things they love. Whether that's returning to your favourite hobby, pursuing career goals, maintaining friendships, or simply feeling understood, I hope to be someone who can listen and remind you about the little things in life!
