Hi, I’m Laura

I'm 31 now, I've just had my first excision surgery 6 weeks ago, stage 2 Endo found, in the pouch of Douglas + some bowel adhesions.

I suffered with symptoms that I didn't even realise were endometriosis, but I just feel like my gut was suspicious that it was, so I pushed.

My journey has been painful periods, leading to tough work conversations due to time off.

I went on the pill, and for me it helped.

I also had to get taken to hospital, after (sex) with my now husband, due to the stomach pain it caused.

All symptoms I now realise, together were Endometriosis.

I the last couple of years, struggled with fatigue,  lower back pain, hip, achy, nerve pain (like sciatic type) down one leg, which I now know- and was suspicious after doing my own research of it being Endometriosis.

I had acupuncture for the nerve/ lower back pain and it did give some relief, also adjusted hours at work and a cortisone injection in my back.

I ended up in hospital a few occasions with the pain, which then meant I ended up on a list, referral for surgery- from the phone call to confirm I wanted surgery (excision), it had to be done in the year, which ir was.

I'm now recovering and feeling some symptoms lifted 6 weeks post.
