Hi, I'm Mel

Hi, my name is Mel.

What motivates me is deeply personal. My journey through endometriosis and infertility has shaped who I am today, and it’s this lived experience that drives my passion to support others facing similar challenges. I understand firsthand how isolating, overwhelming, and emotionally complex these experiences can be—and that’s why I feel so strongly about giving back.

Living with endometriosis and navigating infertility was not easy. There were moments of uncertainty, frustration, and deep emotional struggle. My path to parenthood involved IVF, an egg donor, and a surrogate—an experience that, while challenging, has given me a unique perspective and a deep sense of empathy for others on similar journeys. I’m open to sharing my story because I know how powerful it can be for someone to feel seen, heard, and understood.

Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in nursing, where I developed a strong foundation in caring for others. Recently, I became newly qualified as a counsellor, which has allowed me to combine my professional knowledge with my personal experiences in a meaningful way. My goal is to one day open my own practice, where I can provide a safe, compassionate space for people navigating endometriosis, infertility, and related challenges.

Volunteering has always been something I’ve wanted to do. Being able to support others through their journey, even in a small way, feels incredibly important to me. I want to offer hope, understanding, and reassurance to those who may be struggling—just as I once did.

For me, this is more than just volunteering. It’s about connection, empathy, and turning my experiences into something that can help others feel less alone.
