Hi, I’m Danae

Hi my name Danaé, I am 19 years old and have endometriosis and PCOS.

My journey with Endo and PCOS was a long and windy one but I eventually got there, it took me 10 years to get here but my journey isn't over yet. It took me more tests and appointments then I could ever imagine to get to my diagnosis in January this year. I was managing full time school at the same time as going  through the process, so I know a lot about managing school and appointments. 

I'm a lot younger than most Endo warriors to start with so I have alot of experience if navigating the medical field and the age biases. I also live in the little island down the bottom in Hobart ( tassie) so I have experience with wait-lists and overall struggles around not having enough resources in my state.

When I'm not having a flare up, I am a outdoor enthusiast, I love being outdoors even just for a walk. I'm always asking people to go camping or to the beach with me for some fresh air. I also love animals I have a big heart for animals as I am a qualified foster carer for kittens. Most of my free time that isn't with kittens or outside I'm trying to advocate for those who are younger and may have endometriosis or other similar conditions, I have been trying to push education during highschool in one highschool I use to go to. I want young girls to see the signs and know how to get help. 

I have always since I got diagnosed wanted to help those around me who are experiencing things similar to what I have experienced. As I hope my experiences and wisdom will help someone feel less alone or confused about what is happening
