Hi, I’m Jess

Hi, I’m Jess. I’m 33 years old and was finally diagnosed with endometriosis three years ago.

Despite my late diagnosis, I’ve experienced endometriosis symptoms since I was 12. I also live with other conditions which make my pain complex and difficult to treat. I’ve had several surgeries including a laparoscopy for my endometriosis.

Given these issues, I have a lot of experience advocating for myself and figuring out the best ways to navigate my health conditions and the health system. I am finishing up my psychology degree and love to contribute to research which centres patients and people. Even in my spare time I love to get nerdy and answer any questions I have about health by reading research and patient experiences.

To relax I love to do embroidery and mess around with anything arty or musical. I also love to treat my three-year-old pomeranian like the prince he thinks he is. If I’ve got a free day and the energy, I escape the city to enjoy the outdoors with my husband.

Above all else, I really love chatting to people and sharing stories. I look forward to doing so as part of QENDO’s mentoring program.
