Hi, I’m Emma M.

Hi, I’m Emma! I’m a singing teacher, singer/performer and endo
girly/warrior from Yeppoon in regional Queensland. I’m 36, single,
don’t have children of my own, and being a very proud aunty is one of
the biggest parts of who I am.

I was finally diagnosed with endometriosis eight years ago, after five
years of hip scans, physio, misdiagnoses and being told I didn’t have
“enough symptoms for endometriosis” before finally getting the answers
I needed. My pain has never been limited to my periods - it presents
mostly as an almost constant, sharp stabbing pain through my hips,
which I now know is deep pelvic pain. Despite excision surgery, it’s
something I still live with and manage every day while trying to keep
teaching, singing and building a life and everything else that comes
with that.

I’ve also hit the triple jackpot of endometriosis, ADHD and PMDD. The
latter two were diagnosed within the past two years, and - with the
help of many health professionals - I’ve been working pretty damn hard
to manage these things, and better understand my brain, my body and
myself. I’m also a bit of a spiritual girly, so energy work, therapy
and a little bit of magic are all part of my life too!

I’m also a reformed, tequila-loving, party girl who is very proudly 19
months sober. Eventually, choosing sobriety became less hard than
trying to dissociate from my life, or drink the pain away. It’s a
deeply personal part of my story and something I’m always open to
talking honestly about, but it’s only one of the many things that has
shaped me.

I’m an open book, and I believe being honest about the messy parts of
my life gives other people permission to be honest too. You don’t need
to share my experiences or make the same choices as me for us to
connect. Everyone's journey is so personal, and so different. I’m here
to meet you where you are and give you a safe space to talk things
through  - without having to pretend everything's okay.
